Institute for Health and Development

About us

The IHD was established in 2015 with the goal of providing a common scientific platform for interdisciplinary research in the areas of mental health and life-long development. In bringing together researchers from various psychological disciplines, the IHD combines a multitude of basic and applied research methods, ranging from epi-/genetics and cognitive neurosciences methods (e.g. EEG, fMRI), to ambulatory assessment and psychotherapy evaluation. The mission of the IHD is to advance research in health and development and to translate the findings into policy and practice.

The IHD is part of the Faculty of Psychology of the Ruhr-Universität Bochum and comprises five departments:
